Multi Touch International (MTI)
Motivated by our zeal to objectively impact on aforementioned initiative and to prompt substantive public awareness and participation, MTI in collaboration with Athletic Kenya organized a 5- and 10-kilometer race which was dubbed, “The Great Conservation Run, 40 Billion Trees. One Million Youth Jobs Initiative” .which was held on the 26’h June 2017 at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi and as captured in several newspaper dated 27/6/2017 and contained in our video footage at www.multitouchinternational.org, (video No. 1) clearly demonstrates our focus, consistency, and doubtlessly our passion for a vibrant environment and a healthy Nation.
As a culmination of “The Great Conservation run,” MTI proceeded to launch the first Mega Tree Nursery on a 15-acre farm, 3 kilometers from Nakuru Town on the 2nd August 2017 and as captioned in the Standard Newspaper dated 4th August 2017 and also demonstrated in above website (footage No. 1). The nursery has since been ploughed, fenced, water infrastructure installed and over 3 million seedlings are under propagation manned by 75 women and youths who are also taught tree nursery management, aquaculture, rabbit and poultry rearing among others.
Multitouch International (MTI) through her efforts in conserving the environment was recognized and declared winner of 2013 National energy globe world award Kenya chapter and subsequently on the 4th February 2014 MTI was honored as a finalist at an award ceremony held in Salzburg Austria. The awards are competitively won annually by recognized institutions that have excelled in defining the role of environmental conservation through projects and programs they are implementing. The recognition came principally as a result of the efforts (MTI) is continuously implementing towards ensuring prolific communities through aforementioned multiple sustainable and audacious initiatives for posterity.
